Lorin (Jack)'s Story
After graduation I put 4 years in the United States Navy Air. I was in
Squadrons--VP 9---P3 Patrol Squadron--we spent time mostly the Philipines, Okinawa, and up and down the coast of Vietnam.(1965) I was also in VA 195, an attack squadron out of Lemoore, Ca. We went to the West Pacific in 1967 aboard the Carrier Ticondoroga.
Saw Philipines, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Coast of Korea (Pubelo was taken)and of course the coast of Vietnam.
After the military,(sept 68) being trained as Jet Mechanic went to work for United Airlines in SF. The time they were a changing---got caught up in the times--Peoples Park in Berkley, Joan Biaz at the polo field, vet against the war, etc. Flipped out, bounced around, hitchhiked some of the country, ended up working in clubs, managing and cooking for a living. I met my future wife, whom got me to go back to school, married in Dec, 1972, and Susan is still putting up with me today. Two children, Jillian 30, married with 3 children--Haley 1...Expand for more
2, Annaliese 8, and Robert 7. Jill and her family live next-door here in Campbell. Lorin Jack II, 27, still single, steam-fitter---pipe-fitter for Therma, and a little on the wild side, pay-back in tough they say.
I graduated from San Jose State in 1974 as a Physical Ed.teacher. I sub-taught for a couple of years. Coached football,track, and taught driver training for Los Gatos--Saratoga High School. No jobs that paid anything were available, and I ended up working for Frito-Lay as a District Manager in S. San Francisco--7 years--and then I worked for Mothers Cake and Cookies Co.for some 23 year. I retired in Aug of 2008, and it,s the best job I,ve ever had.
I take the kids to school when needed, play golf once or twice a week and stay busy with gardening, projects--mine and my friends. I have been an active Bible student, and a member of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Los Gatos since 1977. I stay busy in trying to help others with lifes many complex problems
